Ravens Win Streak Reaches 6
|
Mike Blain pitched a gem to lead Yellowknife to victory over the San Francisco Friars, 3-1. The winner was Blain. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Chris Maxwell. Yellowknife, at 28-20, holds down first place in the Western Conference Jonas Division.
Yellowknife used the bat of Jeremy Curzon to get the win. The first baseman spanked a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Ravens ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it altered the outcome.
"Sometimes a win comes easy," Curzon told the Yellowknife Gazette. "And sometimes you have to scratch and claw."
