Kansas City got a first-rate effort from pitcher Roberto Rueda, who frustrated Houston hitters en route to a 2-1 Athletics triumph at Tesoro Stadium. Picking up his 1st save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Roberto Patino. The Athletics improved to 26-22.

Kansas City used the hitting of Ryan Clifford to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Athletics on top, 2-0. For the game, Clifford had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
