Bizarro Helps Destroyers Defeat Arrows, 9-1
|
The San Diego Destroyers beat the Seattle Arrows, 9-1, at Power Ballpark. Ramão Bizarro, who finished 5th in the WC in triples with 8 last year, starred for San Diego. He was 4-4 with a home run, 3 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Earl Tessier, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 5 and walked 1 over 5 innings, while allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The loss drops Seattle to 2-3.
With two out in the top of the second, Don Zufelt put San Diego in front, 3-0, with a 2-run single. The Destroyers went on to win the ballgame.
Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber said his team was "out of sync."
