The Tucson Toros put the giddy home crowd in an even more jubilant mood after beating the Chicago Phantoms in the season opener at Aetna Stadium. Center Fielder Gurmu Jemadari won plaudits for Tucson. He was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Picking up the save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Miguel Moquete.

With Tucson leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Jemadari hit a changeup from Juzo Matsumoto for a solo home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Toros ahead, 3-1.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Jemadari. "And not try to do too much."
