Dragons Stumble, Lose to Kodiaks
Alaska Kodiaks starter Quinn Topp kept the Portland Dragons hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-2 win. The winning pitcher was Topp, now 1-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. The win takes Alaska to 2-2.

Alderaan Pike had a big 2-run double for the Kodiaks in the bottom of the second inning. With Alaska leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Rodriguez and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kodiaks ahead, 3-0.

"They took it to us," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter.
