Wolves Take Nail-Biter Over Toros
Tucson got a terrific game from third baseman Martyn Gheldere. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Vancouver, 8-7, in 11 innings. Gheldere went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Vancouver reliever Manny Arango, now 1-0. The loser was Dong-u Jee. The Wolves now have a record of 23-23.

The Wolves got a clutch hit from right fielder John Woodward. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Wolves.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Zach Meinen, the Vancouver manager.
