Big Day for Houghton as Spectres Down Cyclones, 11-4
|
The Philadelphia Spectres used the hitting of center fielder Lucas Houghton to subdue the Miami Cyclones, 11-4. For the game, Houghton went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Philadelphia reliever Tony Madena was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Vicente Fuentes took the loss. Philadelphia has won 4 consecutive games.
Vincent Horvers had a big grand slam home run for the Spectres in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Philadelphia trailing 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Vicente Fuentes and swatted a home run to right. It was his 8th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spectres ahead, 5-2.
"This was one of those games you love to be a part of," said Houghton.
