Miami Carves Out 9-8 Win
Due in large part to center fielder Yuki Soma, the Miami Cyclones sunk the Philadelphia Spectres, 9-8. Soma was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jim Wahl picked up the win in relief for Miami, while John Frye took the loss. Akira Fukumoto got credit for the save for Miami. It was his 6th of the year.

The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Soma delivered big-time for Miami, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off John Frye. The game-changing hit put the Cyclones on top, 9-8.

Soma told the Miami Times: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."

Miami, at 17-28, holds down last place in the Eastern Conference Walker Division.
