Gaedels Get Close Win Over Stars, 5-4
|
The St. Louis Gaedels faced a tough opponent in Los Angeles pitcher Kingsley Bozek, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Veeck Park by a final score of 5-4. Bozek went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. St. Louis reliever Diego Solis got the win, raising his record to 2-3. Cody Goings was tagged with the loss. St. Louis has won 4 consecutive games.
The decisive blow was delivered by Hector Bueno in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Cody Goings to win the game for St. Louis. The home crowd went nuts.
"This one wasn't over until it was over," Bueno said, postgame.
