The Havana Metropolitanos defeated the Brooklyn Browns, 7-1, at Estadio Latinoamericano. Havana second baseman Pete Delzeit had a superb performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Bobby Jaramillo, who is tied for 3rd in the EC with a 0.95 WHIP, was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Havana currently is in first place in the Eastern Conference Benito Cossutta Division at 29-15.

Willie Flores had a big bases-clearing double for the Metropolitanos in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Havana leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Vince Tozier and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Metropolitanos ahead, 4-0.

"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Delzeit after the game.
