Arrows Dump Friars, 5-2
|
The Seattle Arrows got a good effort from starter Jimmy Cain in defeating the San Francisco Friars at Power Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. Cain, the winner, moves to 6-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. The third-place Arrows now have a win-loss record of 24-20.
Lucas Pamatz had a big 2-run double for the Arrows in the bottom of the second inning. With Seattle leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Kelvin Vaquera, who is tied for 4th in the WC in innings pitched with 57.1, and swatted a double to left. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Arrows ahead, 4-1.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Cain.
