Vikings Handed 6-0 Loss by New York
|
Gil Eckenroth brought his A-game to help New York defeat the Minneapolis Vikings, 6-0. Eckenroth picked up the win for New York, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. The Titans sit in second place in the Eastern Conference Kamuzu Division with a record of 20-23.
Taiji Taira had a big 2-run triple for the Titans in the bottom of the fourth inning. With New York leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a slider from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Jarrod Beckman and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Titans ahead, 3-0.
"Coming in, from the get-go, I knew my stuff was good," said Eckenroth.
