Metropolitanos Get Clutch Win Versus Brooklyn
The Havana Metropolitanos picked up a win at Estadio Latinoamericano, knocking off the Brooklyn Browns, 4-3, in 12 innings. On the mound for Havana was right-hander Buddy Verveer. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. Havana reliever Michiomi Kikuchi picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Angelo Somoza was tagged with the loss. With the win, Havana upped its record to 28-15.

The Metropolitanos got a clutch hit from designated hitter Soo-sung Yu. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Metropolitanos.

"Buddy throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Havana manager Kevin Mayerhofer.
