The St. Louis Gaedels wanted a good start from Brent Lannin -- and he delivered one. The result was a 5-1 St. Louis win over the Denver Glaciers at Veeck Park. Lannin picked up the win for St. Louis, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. The save went to Hector Roybal, his 3rd this season.

Hunter Begley dealt the Glaciers a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and St. Louis leading 2-0, Begley, who is tied for 10th in the EC with a .411 on-base percentage, hit a 1-1 sinker for a 2-run single.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Begley.

The triumph makes St. Louis 14-30.
