Athletics Cut Down Twins, 6-1
The Kansas City Athletics dealt the Cincinnati Twins a 6-1 loss at Cincinnati Grounds. Casey Marko, who led the WC in doubles with 54 in 2074, was the star on offense. He was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Alvaro Castanon was the winner. He's now 2-5. The loser was former first round draft pick Edwin Vazquez. The win puts Kansas City at 13-30.

Jose Buezo went 1-3 with a hit by pitch for Kansas City. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Edwin Vazquez. It was his 19th RBI of the season.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Buezo said after the game.
