Stars Topple Gaedels, 9-6, as Choi Shines
The timely hitting of Han-lee Choi helped the Los Angeles Stars down the St. Louis Gaedels, 9-6. Choi went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for the Stars. Jimmy Oyola, who led the WC in innings pitched with 215.2 in 2080, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 11 strikeouts. Picking up his 5th save was 15-year veteran Jimmy Hsia.

Marty Avalos, who is tied for 4th in the WC in doubles with 15, helped out the Los Angeles cause in the top of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the designated hitter drove in one run.
