Friars Down Destroyers, 5-3
|
The San Francisco Friars topped the San Diego Destroyers, 5-3, in Western Conference action at Seaward Stadium. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco pitcher and Fullerton, California, native Sal Mejia. At 19-25, the Friars find themselves in 4th place in the Western Conference Eastin Division.
Ruden Lopez, who is tied for 8th in the WC with a .318 batting average, aided the San Francisco cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3.
