Toros Deal Vikings 4-1 Loss
|
Tucson Toros pitcher Tony Masso was in fine form, leading his team past the Minneapolis Vikings, 4-1. The winner was Masso. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Benjamin Jones. Tucson sits at 1-3 in the early going.
Tucson used a timely hit from Marcos Salinas to get the win. The pinch hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Toros on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Salinas told a Tucson Today reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
