Aquas Win with Late Heroics
Behind the hitting of Craig Lightsey, the Houston Aquas stopped the Vancouver Wolves, 7-6. Lightsey went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Aquas. Danny Mathews, who finished 3rd in the WC in saves with 31 last year, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The win gives Houston a record of 3-2.

The Aquas got a clutch hit from first baseman Rich Norlander. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Aquas.

"This place sure got loud," said Brandon Coroian, the Houston manager.
