Browns Popped by Aces, 8-1
|
The Las Vegas Aces picked up a win at Western Coliseum, knocking off the Brooklyn Browns, 8-1. On the mound for Las Vegas was left-hander Salomé Sieuve. He played a key role in the triumph. With the win, Las Vegas pushed its record to 23-18.
The Browns had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Aces going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old catcher Chris Zamarron came to the plate. Zamarron hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 fastball from Brooklyn hurler Vince Tozier. It was Zamarron's 10th double of the year.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Sieuve.
