Montreal pitcher Jairo Madueno did his part in helping his team beat the San Francisco Friars, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winner was Madueno. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Bruce Feyereisen. The save went to Irakly Alvarez, his 3rd this season.

Montreal used the timely hitting of Nick Borcherding to capture the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Harfangs on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but he made it count.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said San Francisco manager Erich Weatherholt. "But we decided not to take it."

The Harfangs raised their record to 11-29.
