Los Angeles Earns 3-2 Win
|
The Los Angeles Stars, despite a fine performance by Tucson pitcher Taxi Sabala, grabbed a 3-2 win at Aetna Stadium. Sabala allowed 1 run over 8 innings. Chase Kessler converted his 13th save in 15 tries. The Toros, now 66-86, have lost 4 straight.
Alvin Witz had a direct impact on the outcome. Witz contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Los Angeles up, 3-2.
"I was a little disappointed," said Tucson manager Rick Barnes. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
