Vancouver got a terrific performance from pitcher John Goeman, but it wasn't enough to beat the San Francisco Friars. San Francisco won the Staples Field contest, 3-2. Goeman threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. With the win, the Friars hiked their record to 82-70.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when San Francisco shortstop Ruden Lopez, facing Joe Drum, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Friars the 3-2 win.

Lopez called the win "an overall solid one."
