The Gaedels grabbed a win, 4-3, at Veeck Park, overcoming a fine effort from Baltimore pitcher Rocco Porcaro. Porcaro went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. The Gaedels lead the Eastern Conference Muldoom O'Mulmohery Division by 8½ games.

St. Louis got a knockout punch from Wayne Curran. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Bottom line," said Baltimore skipper Andrew Schweizer, "we didn't play well enough to win."
