Wolves Crash and Burn Versus Friars

The Vancouver Wolves took it on the chin, losing, 15-0, to the San Francisco Friars. Bernie Iglesias pitched a strong game for San Francisco. Iglesias picked up the win for San Francisco, going 6.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-5. The win gives San Francisco a season record of 81-70.
Noah Taylor had a big bases-clearing double for the Friars in the bottom of the fifth inning. With San Francisco leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Li-hong Ho, who is tied for 8th in the WC in innings pitched with 186.0, and swatted a double to center. It was his 47th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Friars ahead, 6-0.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Vancouver manager Zach Meinen. "They smoked us."
