Thunderbirds Get Close Win Over Aces, 4-3
|
The Las Vegas Aces got a superb performance from pitcher Pablo Alvarez, but the Phoenix Thunderbirds still won the game, 4-3. Alvarez threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Phoenix reliever Nick Crook picked up the win, while Ricardo Riveron took the loss for Las Vegas. Andy Miao was called on to finish, recording his 7th save.
Emilio Oregon, who led the EC in RBI with 137 in 2075, had a direct impact on the outcome. Oregon contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Phoenix up, 4-3.
"I really like what we did out there today," Oregon said after the game.
The losing streak for Las Vegas has now reached 4 games.
