Havana second baseman Pete Delzeit had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Philadelphia Spectres, 7-6. The winner in relief was Andino D'Elia. He is now 4-8. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. Marc Hoyles, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
Jordan Alvarez came through with a big-time hit for Havana. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Alvarez told the Havana Times.
Havana now sports a record of 71-76.
