Santiago pitcher Mario Carrisalez did his part in helping his team beat the Brooklyn Browns, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 6.2 innings, Carrisalez surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. Phillip Dalley collected his 13th save.

Santiago took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Jonathan Villegas hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Avispas.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Villegas told the Santiago Herald.

The second-place Avispas sport a record of 84-64.
