Cobo Swings Toros to 6-1 Win
|
The Tucson Toros beat the Minneapolis Vikings, 6-1, with major props going to right fielder Zahi Cobo. On the day, Cobo went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Toros. Tucson is now 62-86. Minneapolis is 87-61.
With Tucson leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Cobo hit a splitter from Josh Hawes for a grand slam home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Toros ahead, 5-0.
"Glad to get this win," said Cobo. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
