Minneapolis Dealt 7-3 Defeat
|
The Tucson Toros picked up a win at Aetna Stadium, knocking off the Minneapolis Vikings, 7-3. Starting pitcher Taxi Sabala was a big reason why. Sabala yielded 3 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 8-14. Earning his 3rd save for Tucson was Edwin Castaneda.
In the bottom of the second, Joe Adams delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Tucson catcher hit a 2-run single, putting the Toros in front, 7-3.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Adams. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
The first-place Vikings now sit at 86-61.
