The Las Vegas Aces weathered a fine game by San Francisco right fielder Colin Cuyler to upend the Friars, 7-6, at Western Coliseum. Cuyler was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jimmy Cain, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The Aces, at 80-64, lead by one game in their division.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Las Vegas. That's when Ed Cromsie hit a 2-run double off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Edwin Maes to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian.
