Greens Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Glaciers, 7-6
|
The Boston Greens topped the Denver Glaciers by a score of 7-6. Leading the way was catcher Ray Boos. Boos went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Greens. Frank Ulloa picked up the win in relief. Olaf Bax took the loss for Denver. Denver's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
Boos had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 fastball from Olaf Bax, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Greens a 7-6 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Boos.
Boos said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
