Stars Tag Thunderbirds with 10-5 Loss
The Los Angeles Stars welcomed the Phoenix Thunderbirds to an afternoon game at Stars Ballpark.

Los Angeles shortstop Jeremy Chickering made his presence felt in the 10-5 Stars triumph over the Phoenix Thunderbirds. Chickering went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Ethan Davis picked up the win in relief for Los Angeles, while Joe Gwin took the loss.

Dennis Videaux had a big bases-clearing double for the Stars in the bottom of the second inning. With Los Angeles leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Joe Gwin and swatted a double to center. It was his 27th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stars ahead, 7-3.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Stars manager Pat Kaers.

The loss makes Phoenix 72-72.
