Maine had no answer for Baltimore Kings hurler John Intriago, who overwhelmed Lobster hitters as the Kings coasted to victory, 6-1. Intriago, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Victor Balaguer, who finished 3rd in the EC in saves with 40 in 2074, earned the save for Baltimore.
In the bottom of the fourth, Baltimore left fielder Koji Chinea had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Chinea stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 4-1, Baltimore. For the game, he went 1 for 4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Baltimore manager Brad Carpenter.
The loss makes Maine 18-21.
