|
Havana first baseman Homer Hanes was instrumental in helping the Metropolitanos triumph, 9-5, over the Washington Senators. Hanes went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Metropolitanos sit in first place in the Eastern Conference Benito Cossutta Division with a record of 25-14.
Soo-sung Yu had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the second for Havana. With the bases loaded and the Metropolitanos leading 4-2, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Yu told the Havana Times. "It's as simple as that."
