Juggernauts Rack Up 3-1 Win Versus Maine
|
In a low-scoring contest, Toronto pitcher Luis Basurto was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Basurto, now 9-9. He tossed 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Ryan Ashe earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Isandro Ramirez went 1-3 for Toronto. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Axel Mendiola. It was his 31st RBI of the season.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Ramirez. "Obviously."
Toronto's record now stands at 72-69, placing them second in the Eastern Conference Jossue Lopez Division.
