Batista Goes Deep Twice in 6-3 Avispas Win
|
The Santiago Avispas defeated the Boston Greens, 6-3, at Estadio Guillermón Moncada. Santiago left fielder Yem Batista had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Boston's current losing streak is now 5 games.
Batista had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 changeup from Roberto Murillo, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Avispas a 6-3 lead. It was the 22nd home run of the year for Batista.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Batista.
