Spectres Make It 4 In a Row with 8-3 Triumph Over Maine
The Philadelphia Spectres defeated the Maine Lobster, 8-3, in Eastern Conference action at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Philadelphia pitcher Tommy Pepper had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Pepper, now 1-0. He tossed 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 8. Philadelphia is off to a hot start at 4-1.

The Lobster had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Spectres going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old first baseman Danny Ornelas came to the plate. Ornelas hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 fastball from Maine hurler Ted Ayres. It was Ornelas's 2nd double of the year.

"Tommy was able to execute his pitches," said Philadelphia manager Ryan Huff. "Simple as that."
