Snavley Swings Greens to 8-1 Win
|
Due in large part to designated hitter Brian Snavley, the Boston Greens sunk the Montreal Harfangs, 8-1. Snavley went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. Su-shun Nie picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while walking 0 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 13-8. By defeating Montreal, the 4th-place Greens improved to 72-66.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jake Herman? The Boston second baseman had a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put the Greens on top, 2-1. For the game, Herman had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager Brendan Henry.
