Phantoms Make It 4 Straight with 4-1 Win
|
The Chicago Phantoms beat the Boston Greens, 4-1, with major props going to second baseman Nala Forcelledo. On the day, Forcelledo went 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 for the Phantoms. The winner was Lan-fang Lai in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Su-shun Nie took the loss. Mayor Pardo was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
The Phantoms got a big at-bat from center fielder Alberto Guardiola. For the game, Guardiola went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Chicago a 3-1 lead.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Phantoms manager Sam J, "I like our chances."
The third-place Phantoms have won 4 straight.
