Aquas Subdue Miami, 4-2
|
The Houston Aquas picked up a win, 4-2, over the Miami Cyclones at Tesoro Stadium. Edgar Albuja led the charge. The San Juan native went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Houston. Houston reliever Jose Garces was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Jeremy Fitch took the loss. Danny Mathews earned the save for Houston, his 5th of the year.
Houston took a 3-2 lead on Craig Lightsey's 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Lightsey hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Miami pitcher Kazune Kimoto visibly frustrated.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Lightsey said.
The 4th-place Cyclones have lost 4 straight games.
