Tundradome was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

Pitcher Mike Blain was sensational for the Alaska Kodiaks in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Portland Dragons. Blain earned the win. Blain yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 14-6. Juneau Beauchamp was credited with the save for Alaska, his 13th of the season.

Ricky Rangel helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Kodiaks.

"Mike was throwing strikes, locating well," said Alaska manager Alex King.

The Western Conference Eddie Izurieta Division-leading Kodiaks are 86-49.
