Fronteira Stars in 8-1 Wolves Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Vancouver Wolves and Los Angeles Stars.
Wolves designated hitter Per Fronteira left his mark on his team's 8-1 win over the Los Angeles Stars. Fronteira, who finished 5th in the WC in OPS with .948 in 2081, went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Vancouver in the contest. The Wolves, at 23-16, lead by one game in their division.
Fronteira had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Wolves went on to win.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Pat Kaers.
