Aniani Hits 2 home runs in Stars Win
|
The Los Angeles Stars topped the Tucson Toros, 7-4, the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Kamakana Aniani. On the day, Aniani was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Stars. Raiko Leon earned the save, his 11th, for the Stars. The Toros, at 55-78, have lost 4 straight games.
Los Angeles took a 7-2 lead on Aniani's 18th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Feng Shuai in the top of the seventh, propelled Los Angeles to the win.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Aniani told the Los Angeles Gazette.
