The Brooklyn Browns called upon starter Alberto Vasquez, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the San Francisco Friars, 5-1. Vasquez, now 4-3, was the winner. Brooklyn used the timely hitting of Billy Buelna to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Browns ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
