Minneapolis pitcher Santos Gomez had a large part in his team subduing the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Zee-loo Kim recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 23 for 26. Minneapolis is now 78-55, 5 games up in the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division.

Minneapolis used a clutch at-bat from Joe Bird to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Vikings ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
