Havana Sent Home with 7-1 Loss
|
The Boston Greens licked the Havana Metropolitanos, 7-1. Willie Echartea deserved a big chunk of the credit. The catcher went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Greens. Today's win puts Boston at 69-61, while Havana falls to 74-57.
Sergio Folha was 1 for 4 for Boston. The 34-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Bobby Alkire. It was his 103rd hit of the season.
"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Folha. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
