Vikings Handed 7-4 Loss by San Diego
|
The San Diego Destroyers knocked off the Minneapolis Vikings, 7-4, in Western Conference action at Seaward Stadium. San Diego pitcher and Esperanza, Dominican Republic, native Bob Castillo had an outstanding performance. The save went to Cruz Ponce, his 3rd this season. The Destroyers are now 69-63, while the Vikings fall to 77-55.
San Diego took a 7-4 lead on Willie Santos's 18th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Santos hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Minneapolis pitcher Joseph Stark visibly frustrated.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Santos told the San Diego Times.
