The Los Angeles Stars claimed a close win over the Seattle Arrows, due in large part to Juan Fonseca. The Los Angeles right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Fonseca, now 14-10, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Chase Kessler got the save, his 9th in 11 chances.

Los Angeles used a timely hit from Jose Gonzales to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stars ahead, 2-1. It might've been his only hit, but it did the trick.

"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager Dr. Jay Siber.

With the win, Los Angeles goes to 71-60, while the Arrows fall to 41-90.
