Woodward Helps Wolves Beat Greens, 8-3
|
The Vancouver Wolves dumped the Boston Greens, 8-3, in large part due to left fielder John Woodward. On the day, Woodward went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for the Wolves. Jarrod Beckman picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-3. He struck out 8 in 6 innings. With the victory, the Wolves record stands at 19-19.
With Vancouver leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Woodward came up to bat against Boston pitcher Adrian Portuondo. Woodward hit a fastball to left-center for a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Wolves on top, 6-0.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Woodward.
