The Cincinnati Twins beat the Chicago Phantoms, 5-4, in part because of first baseman Walter Gravel. He hit 2 home runs. David Prentice earned the win for Cincinnati. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 7-10. The triumph makes Cincinnati 45-84.
Bobby Tapia drove in one run for Cincinnati. The 24-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Marc Diamond. It was his 69th RBI of the season.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Sam J.
