Feng Shuai, who is tied for 9th in the WC with a 9.2 K/9 rate, was locked in. The left-hander led the Tucson Toros to a 6-4 win against the San Diego Destroyers at Aetna Stadium. Tucson pitcher Cody Sosnowski earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Matt Kloser suffered the loss. The Toros, at 18-20, inhabit 4th place in the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division.
Tucson took a 6-4 lead on Leo Garza's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Garza hit in the bottom of the seventh, left San Diego pitcher Matt Kloser visibly frustrated.
"Feng made his pitches," said Tucson manager Rick Barnes.
