Eng goes 4-for-5 to Power Arrows Offense
|
Cheng-qian Eng was a major factor in the 7-2 Seattle win over Boston. The Arrows designated hitter was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Su-shun Nie, who threw 102 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits. Midori Murakami locked down his 1st save.
In the bottom of the 2nd, Seattle took the lead on a 2-run single by Xian-gan Sima. At the time, the Arrows were trailing 1-0, but Sima's hit with two outs against Boston pitcher R.J. Mendenhall put them in front, 2-1.
"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Boston skipper Matt Glazer.
With the win, the Arrows have a record of 22-16.
